I suck at titles.

So I've been trying ChatGPT and its ilk on coming up with new titles to short pieces I've written. I am unimpressed.

The suggestions have all been in the format <short snappy non-descriptive title> <colon> <long somewhat meandering two-part more descriptive subtitle>. Um, no, I need a title for a piece of fiction about two women chatting about a guy at lunch. FAIL.

So far AI seems to be raised on thesis paper titles. Okay, I sucked at those too, but I don't write thesis papers any more.

Oh, and if you saw my recent short story in P&P? Jim Finn gave it a new title. 😐
