I Still Love My Ex-wife

It’s complicated

Our “just married” photo, taken 16 February 1989 at Naval Base Guam. Isn’t she beautiful? And aren’t I… um… well, nobody has ever dated or married me for my looks. Lucky for me!

Thank you for divorcing me!

You are right, you know,
I would have held on
whatever happened.

I would have gone down
in a death spiral of self-loathing
because I kept messing up
and my best friend,
the woman I loved,
was unhappy.

And I couldn’t make things better.

So you were right;
I have my best friend,
the woman I love,
and after a quarter-century
she is still my greatest treasure.

Although
there’s lots to be said of you,
all things considered.
❤️

Luv ya, Linda!

XOXO, Jack

For those of you joining us late: My first marriage was to my best friend and the woman I loved dearly. So was my second (and final) marriage. However, my current wife (Deb) is very heterosexual, and my first wife (Linda), not so much.

I sent Linda a copy of my new book, Intersections, in which I mentioned her several times
