I still have my Canon Powershot, but only because it does 20x optical zoom. When I got it, I loved that I could stitch photos together easily; now my iPhone 11 Pro does that automatically with Pano. I loved that it could be adjusted to take shots in low light (on a tripod or steadied on a rail or against a post); now my phone goes into lowlight mode automatically and adjusts in the software for my unsteady hand. I loved being able to manually focus; now my phone adjusts focus and exposure to whatever subject I tap on the screen. I loved being able to immediately review my shots on the camera’s cute little screen; now I review shots immediately on a screen several times larger. I loved being able to transfer shots to my PC or tablet from the storage chip; now my photos are uploaded to my iCloud account automatically, and I create shared folders so that family and friends get notified of new photos moments after I take them. (Although Deb, once shown, has now become the family photo sharing enthusiast — every grand-niece & -nephew has their own shared folder by Aunt Deb.) I loved the detail the camera captured; now I love how I can make “in-camera” adjustments AFTER the photo has been taken, allowing me to “photoshop” a photo without editing software.
And because of folks like you, Dennett, who post awesome examples, I get a little better every year at taking shots. Thank you!
