I still have my ancient mac.com email, but it points to my Apple email account. Folks who signed up for Apple’s Web services back in the dial-up era all got addresses with @mac.com; when Apple shifted to ME, we got @me.com addresses, but the old ones still work. And now that iCloud is the thing, my @mac.com and @me.com are just aliases for my @icloud.com account.
