I have talked to people who admit fear (I was going to say “older people,” but at age 66, I don’t have that option) and given them statistics about what scares them (like more people suffer death and serious injuries from cows than sharks) but they nod, pause, and tell me, “But I’m still frightened! I hear what you’re saying, but I just am!”

I have no way to help those people.
