I, OTOH, retired earlier than I intended (62, earliest age for Social Security; I still have not reached my "full retirement age," although this month marks my fourth retirement anniversary) because I did not enjoy my job any longer and was getting more challenged every week. Cognitive decline, whether from a TBI in my early 20s or early dementia (both parents got it in their 70s) or both. Can't code when I can't keep code in my head. Less pressure now, more time with my wife, and my writing is still mostly coherent (mostly 😁).
