I occasionally tell people, “God has a purpose in life for everyone. It may be that your purpose is to serve as a horrible example to others.”

This is one of several reasons (my alternate takes on parts of scripture being another) my wife won’t let me speak extemporaneously in church. At least not where children or the easily-offended can hear me.

Anyway, I get annoyed by people who exclaim that God is omniscient and unpredictable, then turn around and second-guess and predict Her. Who is to say you didn’t already change the world? Remember that time you walked across the street and that car waited until you were across before it continued? Of course not, because you didn’t know the car ran the very orange light three blocks down to make up time and got broadsided by the semi; that the car driver spent weeks in the hospital and missed her bar exams; that another DA took over a case years later and failed to successfully prosecute a businessman for fraud; that the businessman then ran for office with a clean record. And so on.

People are changing the world all the time. IMHO, God is under no obligation to provide documentation on when, where, and why.
