I never heard of the "squid game" when I was stationed in Korea, but I never hung out with kids there. In the show, it's an elaborate kids' game with the kind of playground rules that eight-year-olds think up when left to their own devices. Only in the show, when adults play it, the losers die.

NOT light entertainment! I still couldn't tell you how it got to be a major hit on Netflix.
