I kept boxes of my old DC comics for years. Maybe a decade ago I went online to find what they were worth. In “readable” condition? $1.00–$0.50. So, allowing for inflation from the original 12¢/15¢, about the same as I paid. 😐
I shipped the whole lot to our California niece & nephews — after I leafed through a bunch of them to remember old times. 😊
