I have mentioned “weird behavior” (IMHO) on the part of women to my wife, who explained, “Oh, she was just flirting with you.” Huh? What? So, when that woman asked me to put a box that wasn’t very heavy on a shelf she could easily reach— “She was flirting. You were supposed to feel manly because you helped poor little her.” Really? Because she came across as an idiot. 🙄

[I should mention this was after 14 years in the Navy, dealing with Navy women who would rather die than ask for help from a guy. Civilian women seemed like such wimps!]

But my wife and I never flirted before we started dating. “Yes we did! You would come over to my desk and lean on it to get closer to me. Remember?” Um, it was lean on something or stand awkwardly, so I leaned. THAT was flirting? “Yes! Remember how I flirted back?” Ummm… <loud eye roll from my wife>
