I have had Black female colleagues repeat many of your phrases at work, so it's not just a Chicago thing. Although they all said they were just repeating what their mother's said. "I am NOT my mother!"

Actually, that last bit seems to hold true across color, background, and economic class. Must be a woman thing, maybe? 😉
