I have gotten very few negative remarks on Medium over the years, Ruby (I don't write much that's controversial — even less than you!), but the ones I've gotten have all been from "men's rights" trolls, usually to one of my "Chat with Deb" stories. I block 'em, like you do.

Here in south central PA we also use "Bless their heart!" but being north of the Mason-Dixon, it's a put-down or a compliment depending on tone. Such as, "She brought in homemade cookies, bless her heart!" 👍 but also "She brought in homemade dip, but bless her heart, she forgot the chips." 👎
