I got into cooking as a kid, but my motives were, shall we say, not entirely unselfish.
Our mother loved to bake. When she used the electric beaters, my sister got one beater, I got the other. Scraping the bowl was a 50/50 proposition. Fine. Totally fair. Whatever.
Wait! What if I were the one doing the preparation?
So I learned to bake. And got BOTH beaters and the ENTIRE bowl. Success!
Nowadays, of course, I share with my wife. If it's one of her favorites, I even let her have the entire bowl. Pretty much. 😉
