I don't solicit for donations (don't need the money — not in $1 or $5 increments, anyway) but I have occasionally kicked $5 to a friend on Medium, because I know some of them can use an extra buck here and there. The latest time I did it, the recipient sent me a private note thanking me, but telling me those requests were not meant for her Medium friends and she would smack me if I did that again. 😁
