I don’t think we’ll walk into a revolution/civil war (case has been made that the American Revolution was more like a civil war — sorry, I tend to wander into the pedantic; my old instructor background, or the rum talking) so much as back into it. Wondering what the fuck just happened. (Kind of like the whole Trump phenomenon, which could well be identified by future historians as the precursor to the Troubles.) And it will not be pretty, not even a little, and we will have a whole generation of kids who know what it’s like to see dead bodies in the street on the way to school.

I wish I could say life will be better when it’s over, but that’s not the way to bet, based on history. Oh, and we’ll lose the coastal cities because our attention is elsewhere.

On the plus side, you might not have to worry about retirement paperwork.
