I did not, alas, discover the joy of raw sweetcorn until I was almost 30. Stopping at a roadside stand in rural Wisconsin, admiring the produce and picking up a bag or three of corn, when the farmer/proprietor came up, peeled the husk back, and said, "Try it! No no, seriously, just try it! Eat it right off the ear!" Oooookay, might be a Wisonsin thing (I grew up in Illinois, Linda grew up in PA), but let's be nice... DAMN! This stuff is GOOD! Raw, right off the cob, not butter or salt or anything!
