I am kinda with BlackFIRE, it turns out. A chat with our financial advisors reminded us that we're rich — or we will be, from a tax perspective, for one tax year, when we take a large lump sum out of our 401K retirement funds to pay for entry into a retirement home. (We'll pay ourselves back when we sell our house, but timelines argue against having that happen before payments come due. And no, the amount we have in our Roth IRA won't cover it.) So now we'll benefit from improved market returns and extension of the tax cuts for upper brackets (that we've never been in before!) and whatever else comes along to help the elite that we never thought we'd be a part of, even temporarily. 😐
And sadly, this probably won't even make the top ten in the list of weird shit that happens during the Trump/Vance presidency.
