I am, alas, at the age where I no longer enjoy working in the dirt. (I still like working with the dirt, but that’s different — potted plants vs. rebuilding the flower beds every spring and fall, which I haven’t done in years.) And in our area, there are enough markets, stands, and groceries (even chains) that Buy Local, that my only excuse for not buying fresh is convenience and time.

But it really does taste better when it’s fresh.
