Had that happen to me. Good first interview, good second interview, saw the junior of the two guys who interviewed me at a computer show who said, "Look forward to working with you — but you didn't hear that from me!" and winked.

Then... crickets. Called after ten days, the senior guy who interviewed me was "in meetings." No followup, no nothing. 🥺

Fortunately this was only three months into my job hunt after leaving the Navy; if it had happened after eight or nine, I hate to think what the effect would have been.
