Because apparently having a doctorate in botany and microbiology isn’t enough qualification for some people. [Disclaimer: I’m known to favor folks with STEM backgrounds. Nothing against you folks with doctorates in English literature.] And why did they pick a foreigner over a “native Pennsylvania” candidate since it’s a state university.
