FWIW, the timeline for me and Deb:

Meet face-to-face: mid-May (at work, so we have time and opportunity to get to know each other with no pressure)

First date: early June

Closet space at each other's houses: mid-July (we never moved in together, we were just, um, flexible)

Got the okay from Deb’s niece to propose: early September (actually it was more like a really strong suggestion, because adults can be SO slow sometimes [Joelle was 9 at the time])

Engaged: mid-September (the day after she met my family for the first time, and seriously that was the hold-up, I did not need prodding from Joelle)

Wedding: early February

So kids, don’t try this at home! But other adult types in their later years can be excused for moving things along, IMHO.
