FWIW, a "stick to it" story: I got out of the Navy in late 1990, went to CA to live with my wife, and we got divorced ('nuther story). She let me live in her spare room for the month or two I'd be out of work, 'cuz as an IT guy living near Silicon Valley how hard could it be?

There was a recession in 1990/1991. No one had the courtesy to inform me ahead of time. 😐

After nine months of living out of my ex's spare room, I got two job offers within a week (I was able to use one to leverage the other) and then an offer from a third company a week after I started work.

Moral: Hang in there, Kay, and listen to what Toni tells you!
