Flowers — some people are allergic. Although I only encountered this when sending flowers to a woman after a date and she answered the phone stuffed up and sneezing.
Wine/booze — if the recipient doesn’t drink (or doesn’t drink whatever is in the bottle), it makes for perfect regifting. Remember to swap out the gift bag!
