Excellent article, Harry! (IOW, it agrees with my experience. 😁) We will probably never break even on Deb’s kids books, but that’s basically because we invested in an excellent illustrator who charges professional rates. As a result we have books we can be proud of, albeit ones that will never be best sellers, or even popular beyond friends and family.
