Emily, IMHO “women’s health issues” are EVERYBODY’S health issues. Every male has a mother, sister, daughter, spouse, female partner or friend, and any of them are impacted by the way that the medical establishment treats women patients.
My first wife suffered for years with “bleeding stomach ulcers” that would respond to treatment, then come back; eventually someone made the connection to her endometriosis and how the bleeding only presented during her periods. The “treatments” did nothing but cause side effects.
I recommend Abby Norman’s book, “Ask Me About My Uterus”. It’s a great study of what women go through to be understood and believed by doctors.
