Deb would say she agrees with you, Louise. Hence her need to lay hands on the models I wanted, and being satisfied when she got to actually wash a couple loads at our niece & nephew's place.

That said, she has a remarkable ability to adapt to technology once she has a use for it. Digital remote thermostats, the pumps for our backyard water feature, the gadgets on our 2019 Honda Fit (well, most of them), the washer/dryer — once she has a use case, she's good to go.
