Chat with Deb — Our Great Northern Cruise, Part 5
“Iceberg! It’s HUGE! No, not that, the next one. Nope, little more left…”
We took a cruise in late July through late August:
After departing Newfoundland, we had a day at sea on our way to Greenland. We were told we might, maybe, see an odd iceberg or two, but we were still in Canadian waters so we didn’t see one until… we woke up and looked out the window.
DEB: Wow! So we’re already steering around icebergs?
ME: What did they say at the lecture? That this is just ice carried down by the coastal stream from the arctic ice, or something? Then we start getting into ice from the Greenland glaciers as we get closer?
Or possibly we would start seeing bigger ice before that.
