Chat with Deb—New Year’s Night Raid

Well before midnight because, sorry, some of us like our beauty sleep

Deb and I have snuck around our neighborhood during the holiday season. It’s what we do. Three years ago, Gail Boenning put out the idea of leaving thank you cards at neighbors’ houses to thank them for putting up fun holiday decorations. Since then we’ve taken her idea and scampered around the neighborhood with it.

I mess with Gail’s original wording every year (sorry, Gail!). This year they read:

When there so many reasons to be somber, thank you for lighting and delighting our winter. Your happy display brings us joy whenever we pass by.

Happy Holidays!

A Grateful Neighbor

We got off a bit late in the season due to unpleasant weather or other complications. January 1st, as it happened.

No masks this time, you notice. (photo by author)
