Chat with Deb—Holiday Ninjas?

Dark clothing? Check! Face coverings? Check! Stealthy movement in the dark? Ummm…

ME: I was thinking we could just drive around in the car and you could put cards in mailboxes out your window?

DEB: It’s in the 40s tonight. I think we’ll be okay walking around.

True, we’ve done this on horribly cold nights in the past. And nights when it turned out to feel much warmer than we thought, and we ended up stripping off coats.

What are we doing? Holiday tradition. Since 2020.

It’s Gail Boenning’s fault. Well, she started it anyway, putting thank you cards in neighbors’ mailboxes. We took it from there.

Gail is mostly on Substack now, but we keep in touch. She survived cancer and thrived¹—and then wrote about it, because that’s what we do, right?

Love that smile! Oh look, Gail has a copy of my book, also available on Amazon! (photo by Gail Boenning)

The cards read:

Christmas is over, but your lights and decorations still give us cheer. We just wanted you to
