Chat with Deb—Girls Weekend at the Shore
The fun part (for me) was thinking of welcoming scents when she came home (thank you for the idea, Louise Foerster!)
So for <checks notes> the past six years, “The Girls” (women from Deb’s side of the family — women from my side live in California, so not a “c’mon hop over” kind of thing) have rented a place in Ocean City, MD, and had a fun extended weekend. Doing stuff.
The guys are not invited, except for last year and this year when Caleb (now age 2) came along.¹
DEB: So I told you that we didn’t hear anything about (husband of the woman who rents the apartment) this year? Apparently getting told once that she had good, loyal customers was enough to shut him up, car show or no car show.
The last three years the Girls Weekend at the Shore has coincided with the car show in Ocean City, and the male half of the couple that owns the apartment wanted to use the place so he and his buddies could watch the classic cars parade down the street. His wife, in a show of customer service or sisterhood solidarity, shut him down.
DEB: Also, I have more photos of my surprise party.
