Waiting for the audience to file in before the show. The Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA is a lovely old place with 19th Century design and 21st Century technology. The snowflakes on the “curtain” were all animated. (all photos by author)

Deb and I are season ticket holders to the Fulton Theatre in downtown Lancaster, PA. When we worked (near Lancaster) we would see the Friday night performances after dinner at one of the many restaurants; in retirement, we catch lunch first, then the 2PM matinee on Thursdays. We get home before dark (well, before DARK dark, in winter) and can wander about town checking out our favorite shops.

We’ve never had empanadas before. These were outstanding!

DEB: I was thinking we’d do “Empanada Gourmet” for lunch. Their online menu looks wonderful, and the reviews say the prices are good.

We ordered three different meat & cheese empanadas. While we were waiting:

DEB: Okay, that table over there ordered different kinds, I know. How does the cook tell them apart?

ME: The man is a professional, luv, I’m sure he’s smart enough to figure them out.

COOK: Here’s your order, with the mild chimichurri sauce. Now, do you know how to tell them apart?

DEB: We were just wondering that!

COOK: If you look on the corner of each one, there are initials. That’s how you know which is which.
