Caller ID is trivial to spoof.

…ong emotional reaction, hang up immediately. Don’t transfer money or buy a gift card. Be skeptical. Don’t believe anyone who tells you they are a police officer or government official. And perhaps most surprising of all, don’t trust caller ID.
