At 140 meters (Reuters estimated distance between the shooter and Trump) an AR-15 in the hands of an expert marksman could inflict lethal damage on a target — but that’s not the way to bet. So far I have heard nothing to indicate the young man who fired was trained on any firearms at all, much less long range shooting with a weapon designed for close-in combat. I have not seen anything yet on the locations of the three bystanders injured (one fatally) but my guess is they were in the bleachers behind Trump.

Trump’s post-shooting response was excellent. Almost like it had been drilled into him. It’s also possible that he might have fantasized about how he would react if he was shot at and missed. Although the ear damage seemed to take him by surprise.

But yeah, Roz, it looks like the Resistance had better unpack the gear put away in 2021 and get ready for a Trump 2nd coronation. And its aftermath.
