Apparently I hang around the wrong women. My first wife almost always wore clothing with pockets; when she didn’t (usually a dressy occasion) she handed stuff to me (a sports jacket has an AWESOME number of pockets—at least the ones I buy). Deb carries a small purse (a clutch? whatever) when she needs to, but determines needs beforehand, and often I can be the packhorse. Traveling usually requires lugging stuff to have handy, but that’s when my “man purse” (laptop bag) does duty for both of us.

Ever see the TV show “Madame Secretary”? Téa Leoni played the Secretary of State. At a state dinner or similar affair she gets called into an emergency sidebar, wearing an elegant full-length gown. (DEB: Nice outfit!) An aide is briefing her, and she listens attentively… with her hands stuck in her pockets. (DEB: I LOVE THAT DRESS!)
