The point of view shifts almost imperceptibly in the middle. We go from the thoughts of the woman to the thoughts of the boy, and then cross-fade into the final scene (sorry, I see it in my head like a short movie). We aren’t totally sure what happened, but it’s peaceful and good and we know we aren’t meant to.
