Ann, I was thinking I would send this to our niece, 29, who is expecting their first child later this month. It’s such a hopeful, happy piece!

Then (because I usually check myself) I wondered if this would be too much expectation and pressure on her. She is normally on anti-anxiety meds, but of course stopped them during pregnancy, so now she is a bundle of fears and constant worries and Internet-induced panic. Even their dog doesn’t want to be around her sometimes. Her husband has told her she can have one month for breastfeeding, but if she hasn’t calmed down by then, the kid is going on formula and at least one person in the household is going on meds.

As someone who went through pre-birth emotions, what’s your advice? Should I save this for later?
