View from our garage as we left for work this morning. Note that our driveway is almost clear; that’s solar energy from yesterday, keeping the blacktop just above freezing through the night. Everything else? Ice, ice, baby!

And then, Dusty and Cook, after almost an inch of rain yesterday afternoon, we got up to a winter wonderland. As in, “I wonder what land we’ll slide into when we try to brake this morning,” since everything is covered in ice. But it wasn’t that bad once we got started; the township wisely didn’t treat the streets (just the intersections), so the slush-glop from yesterday was all frozen for great traction (although we couldn’t carry on a conversation because the crunching under the wheels was so loud). Mains and secondary roads were fine; some tertiaries required, um, care. And I got a pretty picture.
