Analog is also easier for most people to estimate time intervals. People can look at an analog face, see 7:55, add 20 minutes, and get 8:15. Whereas digital involves more mental arithmetic.

At least, that was true in the 1980s. Going through nuclear power training, we got explanations as to why some instruments were analog while others were digital. Somebody had studied which displays worked best in particular circumstances.

It's possible Gen Z can do digital times in their heads while analog displays confound them (like dial phones do).
