Also, eastern Kentucky. No Internet. (Our hostess had dial-up. Seriously. Still a thing. As are landlines, it turns out.) No mobile reception (so also no maps for GPS). No hotels, motels, or B&Bs, so we stayed in the guest room of my sister-in-law’s college roommate.
Eastern Kentucky. The place that makes you say, “Thank God we’re back in civilization!” when you enter West Virginia on the way home.
