Alas, Jesse, retirement has skewed my week-view! Most of my to-do list is nice-to-dos, not gots-to-dos, and days of the week are more to help me remember what is open when (assuming I summon the courage to venture out into the infected public).
Except Sunday.
Sunday morning usually finds me at church in the tech booth. We are short of tech volunteers, so I normally staff both the early and the late service. Each service is a little different, and almost any service can have its share of tech glitches (camera #2? You were there a minute ago!), script hiccups (why is the praise team singing verse 3? more importantly, why are they singing verse 3 for which I have no words to put up on the screen?), and human foibles (while it’s cool to lead the kids around the church for the children’s message on impulse, camera #1 needs to know in advance where you’re going so they can track everybody—or anybody, really).
So my Sunday mornings in retirement are usually my most stressful. Still, just one morning a week—I think I can deal with it.
