A few years ago we visited the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower in Chicago with family. Our young nephew thought it would be cool to get a family photo of us in one of the all-glass balconies on the observation deck. Very solid material. Very safe. Very engineered for reliability with Chicago winds, etc. Also very, very transparent. So the family got out there, I joined the family (never moving my eyes below or above the horizon line, then turning around quickly and focusing on an object well into the interior), we got the picture, I moved quickly but deliberately back into the main deck, leaned against the wall, and <snap> just like that, ten minutes later I was no longer light-headed.
I kinda get where you’re coming from, Tracy, I guess is where I was going with that.
