A Chicagoland AM deejay back when I was growing up had somehow come across the rabbit-rabbit-rabbit superstition and would start his first-of-month shows with “Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!” (or “It’s 8:47 on this cloudy February first. Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!” during the show). For a long time we thought it was just him. No clue where he got it. But it became a family thing. Deb & I do it to each other, and we text our niece and nephew first thing.

Deb & I also do “Tibbar tibbar tibbar!” as the last thing we say on the last day of the month. Symmetry. 🤪
